Air freight is currently a commonly used FBA first leg logistics method on the market. The operation process of FBA air freight is to first use air freight to airports in the West or East of the United States, and then use express delivery to Amazon warehouses in the United States. As sellers optimize transportation costs, there will be a large number of FBA services that use trucks in the later stages of air freight in the next year, which we refer to as FBA air freight. FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) refers to the seller directly delivering their inventory of products sold on the Amazon platform to the warehouse in the local market of Amazon. After the customer places an order, the Amazon system automatically completes the subsequent shipment.
At present, most cross-border e-commerce logistics companies provide FBA logistics services for Amazon sellers. To be precise, it is only a warehouse to warehouse service that helps sellers send goods from Chinese warehouses to Amazon warehouses in the destination sales country, not all of Amazon FBA logistics.
The entry threshold for Amazon's FBA logistics business is relatively low. Currently, more than 30% of small and medium-sized freight forwarders in the market mainly rely on FBA logistics as their main business, and the market aggregation is low. It belongs to the grassroots ecology of cross-border e-commerce logistics, and competition is extremely fierce.
Compared to air delivery, FBA air freight has the following advantages
1. Because there is no express delivery note on the cardboard box, there will be no abnormalities during customs clearance (airports such as SFO/ORD have strict control over these). So FBA air freight services can almost cover airports across the United States;
2. The cost is greatly optimized, which can be flown to the nearest airport and then delivered by truck;
3. Fast time response;
4. Quick to put on shelves;
5. Low dropout rate;
6. There are POD, easy to claim with Amazon, etc.
Of course, FBA air freight services also have their scope of application, and not every air freight shipment is suitable for using FBA air freight services. Below, we will introduce which situations are more suitable for FBA air freight services.
FBA Air Transport Scope of Application
1. Large cargo:+500/+1000 or above;
2. The closer the warehouse is to the airport, the more suitable it is; For example, warehouses in the United States and Western Europe;
3. Large warehouse, due to the large quantity of goods, the transfer speed in the later stage is faster, such as ONT8, LAX9, LGB8, FTW1, MDW2, ABE8, etc;
4. The first choice for heavy goods is because the backend is a truck service, and the unit is a pallet. Therefore, the heavier the goods, the cheaper the cost of the backend;
5. Large cargo, some of which are expensive due to size issues, and there are additional costs involved, making them more suitable for later truck delivery;
6. Private address bulk cargo. Fly directly to the nearest airport and then deliver. The cost-effectiveness is very high.
